Typically we take on the more difficult projects, as with our very unique scale Harrier model. This project represents a challenge because of the flight capabilities associated with the model (and the actual aircraft), to date no one has a flying model of this aircraft, even from a conventional standpoint which is very surprising to me, considering the fact that it still has to fly conventionally. The Harrier model was reverse engineered by 'AD'(as we sometimes refer to the company) and as a matter of fact we are still in development on the model turbine engine for the aircraft. Almost everything on or in the model is made from composites, from the fuselage, wings & tail sections, spars, ribs and even engine parts, especially where no direct heat is involved. The whole front fan, shroud, stators & front nozzles are all carbon composite. |
